B. R. Cohn
The warm 2006 growing season, along with a light crop and small concentrated berries at Bruce Cohns’ Olive Hill Vineyard, gave us one of our best Cabernets. This wine has much of the ripeness of 2005 with very pronounced aromas and flavors of plum, black currant, and cherry. As always, this exceptional vintage was fermented in small lots to ensure the character of each part of the Olive Hill Vineyard. This vintage was aged for 24 months in only the finest tight grain French oak. A bouquet of fine oak, anise and mint combine with supple tannin, a long finish and strong fruit to produce a well-balanced Cabernet that will age gracefully for years to come and drink well at your table now.
Wine Enthusiast
A very nice 100% Cab that will benefit from 3–5 years in the cellar. Right now, it’s locked down in tannins, with an astringent hardness. Yet it’s elegantly constructed, with a fine core of black currants and cedar.

The dark ruby/purple-tinged 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Olive Hill Estate Vineyards reveals a spicy, oaky nose with hints of graphite, black cherries, and black currants, fresh, medium-bodied flavors, slightly astringent tannin, but good depth. It should continue to evolve for up to a decade.
